How I Achieved Full Recovery After Being Hit By A Car

· Physical Recovery

If you're reading this because you still struggle with a physical issue caused by an old accident or injury in the past, you're not alone. Most people don't fully heal from past injuries and it comes back to haunt them later in life when they begin to lose flexibility or strength. I understand how you feel and I struggled with it too.

Before learning about NeuroMovement, I was working at the Four Seasons hotel in Austin. I was running the room service department all night and got off early in the morning before the sun came up. I was crossing the street and I had the light with me. I could see a car coming from the opposite direction on my left moving very slowly. I wrote it off in my mind and began crossing the street. I did not have awareness of the moving car again right until it hit me.

I was knocked over by the car and sustained multiple injuries. It caused a lot of damage to my right wrist and I could not move my hand. My hand was jammed into my shoulder. I tore a meniscus in my left knee. I thought that was all that was. That day after the accident, I started wearing a knee brace.

I didn’t find out about my hip injury until 2 weeks later when I started falling down multiple times. I actually fell down stairs twice due to my hip injury. A few weeks later, I had a shooting pain in my hip that was so bad that I had crumpled to the floor. I immediately went and got an X-ray the next day. My hip had been lifted and rotated to the point where I was losing balance.

My quality of life had gone down the drain. My hand had no flexibility and I had lost feeling in a third of my hand. I was living daily in pain and discomfort. It felt like things were constantly getting worse one after the other. I was frustrated to say the least.

Thankfully this happened just before my time studying NeuroMovement and the brain. During my time at school with Anat Baniel, I decided that I would apply the lessons I was learning more seriously on myself.

Things began to change as I applied myself diligently. I could feel the evidence of a cascading effect beginning to take hold. One day, I noticed that there wasn’t pain for the first time and I didn’t have to resort to the knee brace anymore. I started to regain flexibility in my hand and my shoulder.

I attribute all the success I have gained to the NeuroMovement Method that I practice daily. I am still improving to this day.

As a Certified Neuromovement Practitioner, I now offer lessons where I work hands on with you to guide and teach you the NeuroMovement methods that worked so well for me.
